We have a number of funds and grants available to help improve our neighbourhoods and to help tenants and residents improve their quality of life. For more information about any of the grants and funds that may be available in your area, please contact Jon Thurlow on jonthurlow@howard-cottage.co.uk or on 01462 683307.
Village Voices Fund
This fund is designed to help village residents who are involved in rural community groups. The fund can help your group with the cost of holiday a community event or function. The annual fund is £200.
Skills Grant
Our Skills Grant offers residents up to £1,000 to help them realise their learning ambitions - and there's an additional £500 available to unemployed residents who are returning to college to retrain for new job opportunities. This year we made 3 awards:
Francis Howes (Monklands) received £300 towards materials, uniform and text books for his NVQ Levels 1-3 diploma in cookery, catering and hospitality.
Naomi Brien-Cahill (Archers Way) received £313 to help purchase materials and equipment for a certificate in hairdressing.
Bernadette Murray (The Ridge) received £200 towards fees for her Introduction to Counselling Skills course.
The team at Howard Cottage wishes Francis, Naomi and Bernadette the very best of luck with their studies.
Communities Grant
This fund is designed to help residents to improve their neighbourhood. We encourage residents to get together with their neighbours to agree the project before contacting Jon Thurlow. This ongoing fund is an annual amount of £2,000. If you would like more information or to apply for a Communities Grant in 2011, please use the Resources Section (top right of this page).
