Residents' focus groups

 We have four active residents' focus groups and a performance scrutiny panel who meet quarterly to help us to develop our services to residents.  These are:

  • Newsletter and Communications Focus Group 
  • Repairs and New Developments Focus Group 
  • Supported Housing Development Focus Group
  • Housing and Neighbourhoods Focus Group
 
Our residents forum group looks at communications, housing matters and maintenance matters.  With over fifty active residents, many sharing their views and opinions by email, the focus groups make a big contribution to developing services in the ways residents want.  You are very welcome to come along as an observer to see if it's for you. Are you a village resident?  Why not become an email member of a group?  As a villager or resident living outside the Garden City you will not be expected to attend every get together.  However, if you wish to come along, all reasonable travel expenses will be paid.  We will also consider holding Focus Group meetings in village locations when appropriate.

Residents Scrutiny Group
From 2011 our newly created Residents’ Independent  Scrutiny Group (ISG) will be casting a critical eye over selected Howard Cottage Services. 
 
This group, made up of seven Howard Cottage residents,  look at our performance against the targets we set and will report its findings to the Board of Governors.  The group are empowered to make recommendations about the development of services and to call the organisation to account where they discover areas of concern, low satisfaction or poor performance.  The group's achievements will be routinely reported back to residents.
 
The group are currently scrutinising Howard Cottage’s complaints procedures and will be reporting their progress to residents here on the web site (link coming soon) and through In Touch, the residents’ magazine.
