Confidentiality and data protection

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25th May 2018.

GDPR introduces new and more stringent rules about how personal data is managed, including how it is shared and stored. At Howard Cottage we have always taken our residents’ personal data very seriously and we have reviewed our processes to ensure we are compliant with the new legislation.

We have looked at the personal data we collect, how we collect and process it, and our lawful basis for doing so. As a result we have modified some of our internal systems and processes.

Subject Access Requests

Our residents and service users are entitled to know what information is held about them.  If you would like to request this information we are required to supply it within 30 days, providing proof of identity is supplied; although we reserve the right to remove any information emanating from or concerning a third party, unless the third party gives their consent.
